Divine Thanatos Wings

After a lengthy development process, IE is excited to announce the release of the Divine Thanatos Wings. Modeled after Thanatos from the video game Persona 3, the Divine Thanatos features 8 floating coffins linked together by chains that clink as you walk and fly around Second Life. You're sure to garner attention when you wear these unique wings. They come boxed with leather shoulder harnesses in both red and black. Pick them up in the SL Market Place, or you can find them at a discount price in-world at either of our locations.

With Halloween just around the corner, avatars all around Second Life are getting in the mood for frightening fun, and what is more horrifying than death himself? With the eight coffins of the Divine Thanatos floating around you, you'll radiate horror and instill fear in the hearts of any unfortunate soul you happen upon. The rattle and clank of chains will precede you like an ill omen, and you will leave nothing but death and despair in your wake. You're more than just another dime-a-dozen Grim Reaper; you're the Greek god of death - Thanatos. Onlookers will wonder what is contained inside those coffins, but only you will know the horrific truth.

You cannot avoid death - to live is to die.
The wings are made of two sets of four coffins, one on each shoulder, that are connected by particle chains that appear to be strung through metal clasps on the back of each coffin as well as on the shoulders. As you move, the particles sway and bounce just as you would expect actual chains to. A simple chat command will turn the particle effects on or off, which can help reduce lag in especially busy sims. Also like real chains, when you walk or fly, the wings emit a clinking chain sound effect. It gives the wings an even greater air of foreboding, especially when nearby avatars hear the chains before they see where the sound is coming from. Like the chain particles, you can toggle the sound effect with simple chat commands. Also, each coffin set emits the sound independently (in the event that you choose to wear only one), so when you wear both, we advise you turn one side's sound off.

All shall perish.
The face of each coffin bears a metal sculpture of a Templar holding a cruciform sword. The bright, polished metal contrasts heavily against the black coffins and adds an enigmatic element to this already intriguing accessory. The wings also come with shoulder harnesses in Blood Red and Midnight Black. The fine, stitched leather looks beautiful with a beveled Roman numeral 13 on the front. Death is the thirteenth major arcana in the traditional Tarot. The harnesses also have removable resizing scripts in them to accommodate just about any avatar shape.

It matters not who you are. . .
In his Fallen Angel form, you probably don't recognize him, but the model for these screen captures is none other than Jakob from the Pierced Crescent advertisements. We did the photo shoot at Doomed Ship, in the chapel. Doomed Ship is a sci-fi horror themed role play sim inspired by the Dead Space series of video games and the Aliens series of films. The chapel is particularly frightening and unsettling, especially with the bloody, glowing crest Jak floats above in all these photos. If you're at all into horror and science fiction, you should definitely check out this sim.

Death awaits.
While working on the shoot, a female player happened upon us. God knows what she thought we were doing, but afterward, she inquired about the wings. To be honest, I was really quite happy that she was interested in them. They definitely stand out and will surely grab attention. Coupled with the right outfit like the one Jak put together, the Divine Thanatos can create an eye-catching, original look. If you're looking for something a little different and off the beaten path, be sure to check these wings out. You won't regret it, I'm certain of that.

Eternity awaits.
We'll meet again.
